Family dog saves teenager’s life after sensing that something was wrong, alerting her whole family to the danger when she collapsed on the floor, teenager says: ‘I have no idea how she knew I wasn't well’

You never know when, or even think about the day your dog will save your life until it has happened. And for the protagonist of this story it was the luckiest day of her life when her loyal family dog saved her life by alerting her family to the terrifying situation that unfolded.

Being in a life threatening situation is not something that any of us enjoy thinking about. Even if recent internet trends try to beg to differ. Though, seeing those videos of people pretending to have some sort of emergency just to see their doggo's reaction makes you truly appreciate just how lucky this hooman was to have had a doggo who not only knew that something was wrong with her, but that was also clever enough to get the whole family involved instead of standing around and doing nothing like most of the dogs have done in those videos where their pawrents keel over.

So take this story as a reminder and a cautionary tale, things can happen to us, any time any where and any way. And just because your dog shows warmth and love, does not mean that they know what to do, or care enough to do something if and when everything goes wrong.

It is truly outstanding how dedicated and loyal our doggos are. Like sure we could go on all day about how impressive it is that this doggo knew that something was wrong with this teenager, but dogs are known for being sensitive to smell in a way that we cannot comprehend. But to actively make the choice to stay as close to this teen as possible to ensure that they are safe and will get the protection and help that they need when time comes for things to go wrong is truly commendable. We know more than a few dogs who would give up their post at the mere suggestion of a slice of ham…

Just wow, it is like a hallmark movie, except it does not have all the cheesy romance and draw out storylines. What a clever and decisive doggo, it is scary to think what might happen to a person in a situation like this where they do not have a sweet dog looking out for them. This poor teen could have been out there on their own for hours even until someone came upon them. So perhaps there is a moral in this story and it is to adopt a dog and train it to save your life.
